New Delhi: The superstar of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan lost his father-in-law Ramesh Chandra Chibber on March 1, 2016. SRK along with wife Gauri Khan visited Delhi to attend his funeral.
We bring to you the lesser known facts about Gauri's father. Read below:
He was an army man who retired as a colonel.
He hailed from Patti, a village in Hoshiarpur district in Punjab and had moved to Delhi in 1970.
He married Savita and had two children - Vikrant and Gauri.
Chibber had initially opposed Gauri's decision to get married to Shah Rukh, reports suggest.
Here's the reason:
Chibber had no problems with Shah Rukh's religion but had issues with his joblessness and financial instability.
"When I went to become an actor, maybe she didn't like it, because actors have such a reputation and also ours was an inter-religion marriage" SRK said on Anupam Kher's TV show, the Times of India reported.
"I started shooting in June and in October we got married. Our honeymoon was on the sets of 'Dil Aashna Hai'," Shah Rukh added.
