KARACHI: Special Assistant to CM Sindh for Culture and Tourism Sharmila Faruqui appreciated the initiative of 1st junior Chef Course by Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (PITHM) and said that the pioneer Institute of Hospitality of the country has once again created history by launching 1st Junior Chef Course for school going children of 5 to 14 years of age.
According to details, the 1st Class of the program was conducted by Professional Chef Aamir Iqbal with assistant of Chef Ghazala Khan and Patisserie Chef Asif Jameel Ansari on June 7 at PITHM. The Junior Chef Course is 10 days program where little stars are trained to prepare their own lunch box while going to school so they can avoid junk and unhygienic foods.
In the Junior Chef Course, students are trained to prepare pizza, mini burgers, spaghetti with meat balls, fish and chips, chicken nuggets, pasta assorted sandwiches, coconut macrons, vegetable spring rolls, cakes, chocolate, brownie, doughnuts, muffins and potato salad.
Families of the participants highly appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management for this innovative idea.
Director PITHM confirmed overwhelming response for this course and informed that significant number of families has approached to enroll their children in Junior Chef Program.
Sharmila Faruqui informed that other short term courses and programs will also be started in PITHM as per demand of people.
