KARACHI: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee led by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman will meet today to sight the Shawwal moon.
So far, the moon has not been sighted in the Gulf countries. Eid will fall on Wednesday for Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states.
The moon for the month of Shawwal signifies the end of the holy month of Ramazan, marking the start of Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid day is a celebration of the end of Ramazan, when Muslims can eat and drink during the normal times and not fast from dawn till sunset.
Pakistanis celebrate Eid with religious zeal and zest every year.
