KARACHI: Pakistani supermodel Ayyan was again unsuccessful in traveling overseas as the immigration department at the Jinnah International airport did not allow her to board her plane.
According to sources, the supermodel was sent home by the immigration department, who were told by FIA officials that Ayyan's name was still included in the ECL hence she could not be allowed to fly abroad.
Accompanying Ayyan to the airport was also her attorney, who had made all preparations for the supermodel's flight. Ayyan had to board a Dubai-bound flight EK-609 which was to take off at 07:45 pm. Ayyan had to go to Dubai in order to star in a commercial for a brand.
The supermodel could face other troubles since the Punjab government has sent a reference to the Interior Ministry to place her name in the Exit Control List again.
Sources disclosed that the reference was forwarded by the Punjab government in response to a writ petition filed by murdered Customs inspector Ejaz Mehmood's widow. Ejaz who was the investigating officer in Ayyan's money laundering case. In the petition, Mehmood's widow had requested the court to place Ayyan's name in the ECL and prevent her from flying abroad.

The model’s name had been removed after the Sindh High Court (SHC) orders. Earlier model Ayyan Ali’s counsel had filed an application in the SHC for putting out her name from the ECL.
The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday had given a day’s time to federal interior secretary to implement the court’s order regarding removal of Ayyan Ali’s name from the exit control list (ECL) and publish on its website the names of all those persons currently on the list.
