COMPUTERISATION: Land record of around 22,700 villages of Punjab has been computerised. The process has automatically corrected five million errors in the manual records held with patwaris.
This was stated by District Coordination Officer Asif Iqbal while talking to the media in his office.
He said the patwar culture was most corrupt and by computerising the record, the Punjab government had ended corruption. He said women were kept out of land ownership, especially inherited transfer of land.
“Through computerised record women have been automatically included in hereditary land ownership,” he further said.
He added that now anyone across Punjab could get their computerised land record in 15 minutes.
